Overview
The ED Coding Business Specialist supports the ED coding program to guarantee that Novant remains in compliance with market requirements and standards. This position is anticipated to the topic specialist for ED and OutPatient Infusion/Transitional Care charge entry. Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma/GED needed.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience ED charge entry needed. 3 years of ED charge entry experience chosen.
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: RHIA, RHIT or CPC (A.) Must protect minimum of one needed. Accredit within eighteen months of hire date needed.
- Additional Skills Required: Excellent Customer service abilities. Substantial understanding of CPT coding concepts and standards. Substantial understanding of policies and policies relating to documents, coding and billing. Need to be information oriented and analytical in nature. Working understanding of Anatomy and Physiology, medical terms. Strong management and social abilities. Should have the ability to work throughout times of high volume and of uncommon requirement as work needs. Capability to drive/travel to numerous locations/facilities as required.
- Additional Skills Preferred: Ability to browse CMS site for NCII modifies, NCD lCD info in addition to the Addendum B.
