This information collection provides details about the reasons for all deaths happening in the United States throughout 1991. Information are supplied worrying underlying causes of death, several conditions that triggered the death, location of death and home of the departed (e.
g., area, department, state, county), whether an autopsy was carried out, and the month and day of the week of the death. In addition, information are provided on the sex, race, age, marital status, education, typical profession, and origin or descent of the deceased.
The several cause of death fields were coded from the MANUAL OF THE INTERNATIONAL STATISTICAL CLASSIFICATION OF DISEASES, INJURIES, AND CAUSE-OF-DEATH, NINTH REVISION (ICD-9), VOLUMES 1 AND 2.
