ANALYST CODING I PROF SVCS (3220)

Job Description: The Professional Services Coding Analyst I goes into information in an electronic billing system( s) and examines electronic medical records to make sure billing and coding precision. Required Qualifications/Education/Licensure: High school graduate or equivalent. Understanding of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines and standards. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical workplace is needed. A minimum of one year of experience in handling balance dues is needed.

Preferred Qualifications/Education/Licensure: Courses in medical terms, ICD-10 codes, and CPT medical codes. Previous experience with medical facility or doctor coding chosen. Understanding of medical terms and human anatomy and physiology needed. General understanding of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10 th modification (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes. Qualified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based (CCS-P), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), or Certified Coding Associate (CCA) chosen.
