We are looking for a Medical Coding Professional I/II to:
- Use readily available encoder, grouper software application, and other coding resources to identify the suitable ICD-10- CM, CPT, and/or HCPCS consisting of specialized particular codes and Assessment and Management (E&M) codes.
- Preserve an understanding and use understanding of National Correct Coding Efforts (NCCI), Regional Protection Files and National Protection Files (LCD/NCD) regulations, Clinically Not likely Edits (MUEs), and Medicare Mentor Doctor Standards, using understanding of appropriate regulative requirements and institutional standards to pick proper codes and modifiers.
- Willpower payer rejections and react to questions from income cycle groups, processing charge corrections as proper.
Education:
Minimum– High School diploma or comparable and a graduate of or presently registered in a Medical Coding Program.
Preferred– High School diploma or comparable and Medical Coding Education.
Work Experience:
Preferred– 1 year direct coding experience.
Licenses and Accreditations:
Minimum– Accreditation as Licensed Expert Coder (CPC), Registered Health Details Specialist (RHIT), Registered Health Info Administrator (RHIA), Licensed Outpatient Coder (COC), Qualified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Qualified Coding Expert (CCS), Licensed Coding Professional Physician-Based (CCS-P), or a Qualified Coding Partner (CCA) within one year of hire.
Preferred– Accreditation as Licensed Expert Coder (CPC), Registered Health Details Professional (RHIT), Registered Health Details Administrator (RHIA), Qualified Outpatient Coder (COC), Qualified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Qualified Coding Professional (CCS), or Licensed Coding Expert Physician-Based (CCS-P), or a Qualified Coding Partner (CCA).
Required Abilities, Understanding, and Capabilities:
- Understanding of coding principles (Present Procedural Terms (CPT), International Category of Illness 10 th Edition-Clinical Adjustment (ICD-10), Code on Dental Procedures and Classification (CDT), and Healthcare Treatment Coding System (HCPCS)).
- Understanding of medical terms.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Workplace (i.e., Excel, Word).
- Understanding of Anatomy and Physiology.
- Shown capability to work separately and in a group environment.
- Reliable interaction abilities (composed and oral).
Physical Requirements:
Inactive: Capability to raise to 10 pounds optimum and sometimes lifting and/or bring such short articles as dockets, journals and little tools. An inactive task is specified as one, which includes sitting, a particular quantity of strolling and standing is frequently required in bring out task responsibilities. Jobs are inactive if strolling and standing are needed just sometimes and other inactive requirements are fulfilled.
