Task Description: A Medical Assistant II carries out regular clerical and medical jobs within the center, helping Physicians and other certified service providers to supply quality client care effectively and cost successfully.

Medical Assistant Scope

The Medical Assistant II operates under the guidance and licensure of the Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician within the scientific setting.

Medical Assistant Job Essentials

Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for doctor.

Successful conclusion of a certified Medical Assistant program or one with which Intermountain Healthcare has a legitimate association arrangement

effective conclusion of a certified LPN or registered nurse program and an existing LPN or registered nurse license.

3 years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient center or other health care setting

– and –

Satisfactorily finishes appropriate proficiency evaluations and abilities lists within 90 days of hire or transfer into Medical Assistant task.

Successful conclusion of a recognized Medical Assistant program or one with which Intermountain Healthcare has a legitimate association arrangement, or

– and –

Satisfactorily finishes suitable proficiency assessments/skills lists within 90 days of hire/transfer into Medical Assistant task.

Preferred Qualifications

Current nationwide MA accreditation from among the list below nationwide MA accreditations or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.

Experience in an outpatient center or other health care setting.
