Introduction

The Coding & Charge Entry Expert position is responsible to input charges through the cautious evaluation of charges associated with services carried out by WCF providers. Must produce claims properly and reviewing coding of the claims prior to claim submission. The position supports the company’s general Operations by effectively and efficiently carrying out tasks needed for Revenue Cycle process and delivering outcomes.

Duties

Ensures doctor’s charges are gotten in a timely manner

Reviews schedule to make sure all charges are entered in EMR

Strong customer support skills; answering client calls; prompt return and follow up to all interactions; prompt action to requests for details, both internally and externally

Professional capability to add specific data such as modifiers, payer particular details consisting of permissions criteria, CPT, and ICD-10 codes and date of injury (DOI)

Knowledgeable to add modifiers based on payer specifics, insurances, and authorization requirements and referring doctor’s distinct characteristics

Understand and interpret the Correct Coding Effort (CCI) and payer guidelines

Achieve goals stated by supervisor regarding error-free work, transactions, procedures, and compliance requirements

Perform other responsibilities and functions as directed and/or requested.

Qualifications

CREDENTIALS:

Minimum of a High School diploma

Minimum of 1– 2 years of experience in healthcare billing and abstract coding

Strong organizational abilities

In-depth oriented

Capability to multitask and work in fast paced environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Capability to work independently on designated tasks along with accept direction on given projects

Able to work collaboratively with administration and personnel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree chosen

CPC -A

Capability to carry out regular mathematical computations

Understanding of CPT, ICD-10 codes, and medical terminology

Familiarity with EMR systems.
