Performs billing research functions to make sure the appropriation is prepared to expense. Identifies proper billing codes required, billing details for information entry of appropriations, and other billing jobs. High degree of effort and self-motivation required to be able to fix billing problems without help on a regular basis. Screens, sums up, and reports deficiencies in requisition info received from TRL offsite areas and ordering physicians/clients.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

Needs one of the following:

  • One (1) year experience as a Medical Data Entry Expert in the TriCore Workplace.
  • Minimum of one (1) year lab or medical billing experience.
  • Minimum of 2 (2) years’ experience within a health care medical office in a registration or clerical position.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Intermediate understanding and understanding of medical terms, third party billing requirements, ICD-10 and CPT coding experience
  • Intermediate PC/data entry abilities to include Web Explorer and Microsoft Workplace applications.
  • Must type 30 WPM or 9000 keystrokes per hour (typing test needed)
