PARIS (Reuters) – The head of European planemaker Airplane called on Saturday for a “ceasefire” in a transatlantic trade war over airplane aids, saying tit-for-tat tariffs on aircrafts and other items had worsened damage from the COVID-19 crisis.
Washington progressively enforced import responsibilities of 15%on Airplane jets from 2019 after an extended conflict at the World Trade Organization, and the EU responded with matching tariffs on Boeing (NYSE:-RRB- jets a year later.
Faury said the disagreement with Boeing was especially harmful during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has badly struck air travel and led to take a trip limitations or border closures.
Poland said on Saturday it had actually not dismissed imposing limitations at the country’s borders with Slovakia and the Czech Republic due to rising COVID-19 cases.
