There are two major lessons to be gained from the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Alice Wong, creator and director of the Impairment Visibility project We need to stop aiming for a return to some kind of pre-COVID ‘normality’, since actually, it wasn’t that terrific for everybody. Instead, it left many individuals out of the conversation about how to resolve the crisis– marginalized people, scientists, people with specials needs.

The second lesson is that we now have a chance to reconsider the world, to re-envision the future and this time, we, as an international neighborhood, can’t manage to turn anybody away.
