Description:

The Medical Assistant is accountable for offering client care to clients by helping with diagnostic tests, treatments and treatments purchased by the doctor in an Endocrinology specialized center setting.

This position is full-time working Monday – Friday, 7: 30 am – 4: 30 pm with a 1-hour lunch break. No nights, weekends or vacations. No call. Gown code is scrubs, with casual Fridays.

Endocrinology Clinic of Minneapolis is a running department of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health).

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare, stock, and tidy examination space
  • Room clients and file high blood pressure, weight, vitals, and factor for check out
  • Maintain an effective, arranged scientific circulation
  • Review diabetic circulation sheet/blood sugars and ask about present problems/concerns.
  • Carefully evaluate all existing medications and does and upgrading list. Validate the drug store that they are utilizing; if it is a mail order drug store include this info to a sticky note on the chart. Ask client if they require refills.
  • Review drug allergic reactions and ask if any brand-new drug allergic reactions.
  • When rooming a diabetic client, ask to remove their shoes and socks.
  • Ask clients when their last eye test was and demand a copy of the documents.
  • Download blood sugar meters, insulin pumps, CGMS screens on computer system and print record for doctor.
  • Assist with paperwork of client information into chart
  • Prep for injections, help with small treatments
  • Ensure coding requirements are followed throughout entry of client info
  • Act as a recommending delegate, consisting of processing prior permissions
  • May likewise help with any of the following:
  • Assist Care Coordinator with client care services
  • Assist with medical supply stock and purchasing
  • Screen client calls and react to client in a prompt way. File all phone messages in the client’s chart
  • Communicate with clients telephonically whenever needed
  • Take refill demands off drug store line and call drug store when authorized. Process electronic refill demands daily.
  • Mail letters with outcomes to clients who are not on the client website.
  • Work with doctor( s) to react to client messages in prompt way. File messages and actions properly within the client chart or EMR
  • Respond to messages that clients send out through the client website.
  • Fill out DOT/DM types as medical personnel finishes, copy for chart and mail.
  • Review inbound faxes and procedure documents assisting to finish file and providing to doctor to finish.
  • Maintain medication space, calling drug store associates when samples are required.
  • Any and all other responsibilities as designated

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or comparable Medic experience (Military, EMT, and so on)
  • Clinic experience
  • Understanding of medical terms, anatomy, and physiology needed
  • Knowledge of diagnostic treatments (manual high blood pressure), pharmacology, and treatment evaluations
