Medical Assistants carry out administrative and scientific responsibilities under the direct guidance of a medical service provider– doctor, doctor assistant or nurse professional– in the medical workplace setting. Obligations of the function consists of:

Clinical Functions:

Administrative Functions:

· Taking clients to spaces

· Greeting clients

· Obtaining crucial indications

· Scheduling visits

· Assisting with medical treatments

· Answering phones

· Performing phlebotomy

· Clerical & computer system work

· Obtaining laboratory specimens

· Prior permissions

· Adhering to security and infection standards

· Billing and coding

· Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR)

· Faxing

· Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations

· Disability & Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) documentation

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of a medical assistant program (or) One year as a Medical Assistant

Desired:

• One year as a Medical Assistant
• Certified Medical Assistant
