Position Summary
The LPN Medical Records Director preserves the clients’ medical records, consisting of coding, auditing, and supplying important personnel education relating to recordkeeping treatments. Acts as the designated Privacy Officer for the center in accordance with all relevant laws, guidelines, and Life Care requirements.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree OR a comparable mix of education and experience
- Credentialed as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) OR as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) OR have a degree in a health associated field with substantial training and showed skills in the HIM field
- Training in post severe care health details management
- Currently licensed/registered in appropriate State. Should keep an active Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) license in excellent standing throughout work.
Specific Job Requirements
- Demonstrate effective use of intricate computer system software application systems
- Advanced understanding in field of practice
- Make independent choices when scenarios call for such action
- Knowledgeable of practices and treatments along with the laws, policies, and standards governing functions in the post intense care center
- Implement and translate the programs, objectives, goals, policies, and treatments of the department
- Perform skillfully in all proficiency locations consisting of however not restricted to: client rights, and security and sanitation
- Maintains expert working relationships with all partners, suppliers, and so on
- Maintains privacy of all exclusive and/or secret information
- Understand and follow business policies consisting of harassment and compliance treatments
- Displays stability and professionalism by sticking to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and finishes obligatory Code of Conduct and other suitable compliance training
Essential Functions
- Contact doctor for order explanations and transcribe and interact to nursing personnel when suggested
- Participate in month-to-month medication and MAR reconciliation
- Audit and total continuous evaluation of all clients’ medical records to make sure paperwork and efficiency compliance
- Maintain present, overflow, and released record filing systems
- Serve as the center’s Privacy Officer for HIPAA compliance
- Understand and use LTC payment systems, consisting of Medicare
- Use ICD 10 CM coding
- Use CPT/HCPCS coding systems
- Effectively interact with doctors, nursing personnel, and allied health workers
- Interview, hire, train, assess, counsel, and monitor medical records personnel
- Exhibit exceptional client service and a favorable mindset towards clients
- Assist in the evacuation of clients
- Demonstrate reliable, routine participation
- Concentrate and utilize thinking abilities and profundity
- Communicate and function proficiently on an interdisciplinary group
- Sit, stand, flex, raise, press, pull, stoop, stroll, reach, and move periodically throughout working hours
- Read, compose, speak, and comprehend the English language
