Position Summary
The coding expert abstracts and goes into charges for service provider services that may occur in the hospital inpatient/outpatient, ambulatory surgical treatment, or other PNHS outpatient centers. Designates suitable CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, fee’s and other third party payer regulations in accordance with all associated contracts in an accurate and prompt way to guarantee proper reimbursement. Completes retrospective chart documentation audits relative to rejected claims, service provider request and patient problems.
Education/Experience:
Coding diploma/degree or comparable education and experience required.
Special Knowledge/Skills/Certifications/ Licenses:
CCS, CPC, or RHIT chosen.
Previous experience using computer systems, Microsoft Workplace applications, medical records content, and medical record conclusion requirements preferred.
Capability to discern the nature of the procedure and the approach carried out from checking out physician’s paperwork including personnel reports, development notes, discharge reports, and pathological reports. Need to have some understanding of payer regulations and how to use. Should be extremely information oriented and able to work individually. Strong choice making and problems fixing skills are required. Good communication abilities also required.
