Accountable for the carrying out a variety of tasks required to collaborate charge entry and charge capture obligations. Important responsibilities and duties include the following. Other responsibilities might be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities
- 1. Assisting in the ongoing updates of CPT and ICD10 Informing physicians of changes within each specialty; assessing procedure codes and diagnosis on a continuous basis and advising corrections and changes for constant enhancement; Examining coding standards for OP reports, Multi-Specialty Surgeons, Physician Assistants, hospitalists and other departments; going to workshops and evaluating relevant products on coding guidelines.
- 2. Making sure that the suitable ICD10 codes are assigned by following HCFA guidelines and preserving less than 2% error rate; Using proper CPT code standards to insure correct reimbursement; keeping coding error rate listed below 3% as noted on supervisory evaluation of coding audits.
- 3. Examining accounts in Charge WQs on everyday basis; applying coding rules and follow NEMG policy and procedure when processing doctors charges for billing; Requesting missing info essential to release the charges. Releasing charges from WQ on daily basis (charge can not be in WQ longer than 3 days from the date received).
- 4. Reviewing accounts in Follow Up WQ on everyday basis; completing Follow-Up WQ with in 5 days.
- 5. Following treatments established for regular monthly charge capture reconciliation.
- 6. Demonstrating remarkable customer support toward internal and external customers.
- 7. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Credentials
EDUCATION
High School Graduate or GED required.
EXPERIENCE
Licensed Expert Coding Certification required. Minimum two (2) years related experience with ICD 10 coding, CPT coding, and medical terminology. One (1) or more years of coding experience a plus.
LICENSURE
Qualified Expert Coding Accreditation required.
UNIQUE ABILITIES
Excellent customer service skills. Competent Keyboard Abilities and Good Organizational Abilities. Working knowledge of PC and Microsoft Workplace. Remarkable teamwork and ability to multitask. Excellent interaction abilities.
