Former President Trump and former very first lady Melania Trump were both immunized at the White House in January, a Trump advisor tells Axios.

Why it matters: Trump stated at CPAC on Sunday that “everyone” need to get the coronavirus vaccine– the first time he’s urged his fans, who have actually been more skeptical of getting vaccinated, to do so.

  • It’s uncertain which vaccine they got.
  • Vaccine hesitancy is higher amongst white Republicans than any other demographic group, and it hasn’t been improving as the vaccination effort continues, according to Civiqs ballot
  • The news of the Trumps getting immunized was initially reported by the New York City Times.

What he’s saying: ” We looked after a great deal of people– including, I guess, on Dec. 21, we looked after Joe Biden, due to the fact that he got his shot, he got his vaccine,” Trump said at CPAC on Sunday. “So everybody, go get your shot.”

Flashback: In December, previous Surgeon General Jerome Adams protected Trump for waiting to get immunized after the rollout of the Pfizer vaccine, saying the former president had a “medical factor” for refraining from doing so.

  • Adams cited an experimental antibody treatment Trump had been given after contracting the virus in October.
