Introduction

Mid-Columbia Medical Center is now accepting applications for a Coding & Billing Professional III.This position is Full-Time and is qualified for an extensive advantages and time-off plan.

Duties

The Coding/Billing Expert is accountable for information entry and tracking of healthcare facility, nursing house rounds and outpatient encounters. The Coding/Billing Expert is accountable for medical records chart audits, figuring out coding precision, passing on findings back to doctors and mid-level companies and performing coding discussions to billing personnel. This position needs accreditation with among these programs (CPC) or (CCS). Monitors level I & level II coders. Supports Workplace Director in his/her absents with timecard approval rights.

Certifications

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Accreditation is needed with among the following coding specializeds; CCS-P, CCS, CPC.

Experience:

  • 2 years billing experience chosen.
  • 2 years of CPT-4 coding experience chosen consisting of: medical records chart auditing and medical terms understanding and anatomy.
  • Understanding of Medical Terms.
  • Excel, Word and PowerPoint is preferable
  • 2 years supervisory experience chosen.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Attention to information and precision
  • Capability to go into information with speed, consistency and precision
  • Capability to interact and work successfully and expertly with Suppliers and personnel.
  • Working understanding of ICD coding, CPT coding and HCPC coding.

BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND VITAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Looks into and supplies education to suppliers, center management and personnel concerning coding and compliance problems using regulative and medical educational resources.
  • Efficiency precise information entry of client charges
  • Carries out Medical Records chart audits
  • Examines and identifies coding precision
  • Establishes and carries out constant procedures to interaction outcomes of medical records audit to directors, medical professionals and mid-level service providers as needed
  • Arrange and carry out group discussions of coding/audit findings for training functions
