Position Duties:
Carries out coding and abstracting on inpatient and or CCL/Interventional Radiology cases as required by choosing and recording ICD 10- CM medical diagnosis and ICD 10 PCS treatment codes.
Appoints proper treatment codes, DRG, POA, ROI, SOI, APC and or modifiers with precision rate of 95% or higher.
Carries out abstracting of coding and medical information (I.e. discharge personality, discharge date, client type, and so on.) with a precision rate of 95% or higher.
Codes 2.5 inpatient/ rehab system records per hour.
Codes/abstracts 2.5 CCL/Interventional Radiology/Special Treatment system records per hour.
Process of E-mails, Smarts, CDI, Internal/External Audits daily within a 24 to 48 hour reaction time.
Process of IMPRESSIVE Control panel daily, IP/OP, Top Priority, Interim, Rehabilitation, CCL & Inpatients.
Process in IMPRESSIVE stopped working claims mistakes, and coding evaluation required Q daily.
Keeps existing status of Coding Qualifications, by every year sending evidence of compliance with AHIMA requirements.
Finishes 30 hours of Continued Education each year.
Refers inquiries to doctors and concerns to managers as proper, abiding by all internal audit requirements, (i.e. evaluation charts for Complication/Cormorbidity compliance).
Carries out everyday confirmation of records gotten, representing all charts.
Certifications:
RHIA, RHIT, CCS or eligible to evaluate for among these. Accreditations need to be acquired within 12 months of work.
Associates degree in Health Info Management or conclusion of Coding Expert Program.
2 (2) years of coding ICD9-CM with DRG project and CPT-4.
