POSITION SUMMARY:

- Recognizes instrument, devices or approach issues and/or disparities and brings them, with paperwork, to Assistant Supervisor or Supervisor’s attention in a prompt way.
- Performs and examines outcomes of Quality Control activities according to Section Policy and Procedures.
- Recognizes technical and non-technical problems/discrepancies in lab operations and brings these problems/discrepancies to Assistant Supervisor or Supervisor’s attention.

- Uses LIS to promote clearness and right analysis of lab outcomes.

- Maintains preliminary and yearly proficiency paperwork as laid out in area policies and treatments.

- Attends department continuing education classes throughout the year.
- Participates in clinical or service associated continuing education classes.

EDUCATION:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science that includes effective conclusion of a monitored course of scientific internship in an authorized medical facility lab or A Bachelor’s degree in a used science (Chemistry, Biology and Biochemistry).
- Experience needed with Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology and Biochemistry: need to have 2 years of experience in a scientific lab. Experience needed with a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science: need to have one year experience in medical lab.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires the understanding of medical tests and requirements essential to carry out extremely complicated tests as specified by CLIA (see appendix A) and properly report outcomes.
