ABOUT THE ROLE

The Medical Records Abstractor will carry out prompt and effective abstraction of medical record charts and validate information to guarantee precision and efficiency of record details. PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Accurate evaluation of electronic service provider client schedules
  • Cross monitoring of client demographics for precise client recognition
  • Searching digital medical records for important client histories
  • Correct information entry of client information
  • Accurate tracking of chart and time conclusion
  • Other responsibilities as appointed

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 1+ years’ experience in medical information abstraction and coding; or 3+ years’ experience as a health care specialist
  • Knowledge of medical terms
  • Prior experience with electronic medical record systems chosen (Epic, Athena, eCW, GE Centricity, Cerner)
  • Preference offered to prospects with sophisticated scientific degree; having actually operated in a medical setting
  • Detail oriented, reliable and capability to multi-task
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook
  • Protect the private nature of the medical information accessed through work with GuideIT pass necessary HIPPA compliance training
  • Must have the ability to work separately and as a group
  • Must have proactive and clear interaction abilities with employee and management
  • Demonstrates efficiency in computer system principles and applications; able to find out brand-new computer system applications (Electronic Capture Tools, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma and/or GED certificate needed
