Coding Auditor

The Coding Auditor integrates medical coding principles and neutrality in the efficiency of coding audit activities. Draws on ICD10 and CMS coding expertise and industry knowledge to corroborate coding principles to determine potential billing/coding problems, and quality issues. Under indirect supervision, the Coding Auditor will examine the quality of all severe care inpatient work types to ensure suitability and accuracy of diagnoses and procedures in accordance with ICD10 CM, ICD10 PCS, Coding Center, Center of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) guidelines.

Essential Functions:

Participates in client system education to gain the knowledge required to investigate customer accounts in making sure that the coding is supported by the patient’s medical documentation, coding/cdi guidelines and other regulative standards/guidelines as proper

Maintain precise documentation, spreadsheets, account, and claim examples of origin problems.

Performs searches of governmental, payor-specific, hospital-specific, regulatory body, and literature guidelines, guidelines, guidelines to recognize and coding and billing requirements to make recommendations to client

Assist in the development and coordination of the executive summary reports, education and training client coding companion as it connects to the outcomes of the coding audit

Meet established productivity standards for coding audits & coding accreditation requirement

Participates in coding conferences, workshops, and in-house sessions to receive upgraded coding information and modifications in coding and/or regulations

Provides exceptional customer support, in an organized and efficient way, while keeping a positive mindset

Certifications:

At least 3 years of experience straight associated to the duties and obligations specified

RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CIC, CPC or COC required sometimes of hire

Certified Earnings Cycle Representative (CRCR) strongly chosen sometimes of hire. if not a CRCR, should get within 6 months work

Arranged Weekly Hours: 40
