To add to the flow within the HIM Department by ensuring each inpatient record is efficiently coded, billed and paid with the proper DRG/APC. Medical diagnosis codes, Treatment codes, Discharge personality and coding questions. Close integration with the clinical paperwork improvement team to help with DRG optimization. Clients served include HIM Department, Financing, Physicians, and Third Party Payors, Quality Management, Nursing, Registration, Regulatory Agencies, Details Services and other health care facilitators.
Position Requirements
Education/Experience
Minimum Required:
Associate’s Degree in Health Details OR
Coding accreditation with 3 (3) to five (5) years of experience in coding
Working understanding of MS- DRG’s, APR’s, healthcare facility coding and electronic medical record
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in HIT.
5 (5) years of supervisory experience. Experience with regulatory firms and third party payers.
Experience with electronic medical record.
License/Certification
Minimum Required:
RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, CPC, or CIC certification
Preferred:
RHIA certification
United Health Providers.
