Task Description

This position will be for an Inpatient Coding Auditor

Under the instructions of the Director of Medical Coding the Coding Auditor carries out department and interdepartmental coding audits to make sure compliance with Federal and State policies. The Coding Auditor has extensive understanding of Intense Care center Federal and State reporting standards, CPT/HCPCS coding, UB-04 profits coding, modifiers, sequencing guidelines and the National Correct Coding Effort (NCCI) modifies, AHA Coding Center, Authorities Standards for Coding and Reporting for ICD-10- CM, ICD-10- PCS coding conventions, DRG and APC payment categories and Medicare Conditions of Involvement. The Coding Auditor will recognize cases coded improperly and supply feedback and education to the Coder. Accountable for the prompt and precise transfer of remedied information from quality evaluates to health center computer system systems. Accountable for sticking to the Medical Coding Department’s coding compliance program. Maintains expert requirements following the AHIMA expert code of principles. Enforces Medical Coding Department policies and treatments.
