Duties

  • Understand and use appropriate coding, regulative and compliance standards, APCs, ICD10, CPT, E&M, treatment codes and modifiers, and uses documents standards.
  • Maintains 95% coding precision while conference department’s performance requirements.
  • Take part in personnel conversations and offers important input to the group.

Credentials

REQUIRED:

  • High School Degree, GED, or comparable mix of education and experience from which equivalent understanding and capabilities can be gotten is essential.
  • RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC, CCS-P
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in outpatient center abstracting coding (ICD9, ICD10, HCPCS and CPT) and center coding modifiers. Experience might be alternatived to a Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics or Health Details Management together with needed accreditation. Prior experience dealing with scientific experts is chosen.
  • Working understanding of insurance coverage strategies, LCD/NCD’s
  • Capability to deal with medical specialists
  • Medical records and EMR/EHR understanding
  • Medical terms, Anatomy and Physiology

PREFERRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Previous oncology or transplant coding, previous training experience with clinicians, E & M, surgical and infusion coding, ICD10 training and/or dual/double coding experience, LEGENDARY CARE and HB, 3M encoder, WHALE and Mindscape experience.
