Description

TASK DESCRIPTION:

  • Evaluations inpatient medical records for choose payer populations post-discharge and pre-bill; audits the precision and efficiency of medical diagnosis and treatment coding, DRG task, and abstracted information POA, Discharge Personality.
  • Evaluations inconsistencies in between the Scientific Documents Expert (CDS) DRG and the Coder DRG.
  • Examines non-CC/MCC records to figure out if record was miscoded or if extra documents is required.
  • Functions with Coders and CDSs to prepare and start doctor inquiries.
  • Carries out evaluations in a prompt way to keep DNFB target of 4 days.
  • Helps in advancement and coordination of instructional and training programs relating to technical coding and scientific subjects for the coding personnel.
  • Helps with advancement and execution in coordination with the Coding Supervisor, Quality nurses and the CDS group to inform doctor, nursing, and other scientific personnel to enhance documents.
  • Evaluation DRG Reassignment letters and helps in creating Appeal letters.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Coding Expert (CCS) accreditation. RHIA/RHIT chosen.
  • Minimum 5 (5) years experience with coding ICD-10 in an intense care setting.
  • Previous experience in carrying out DRG coding audits.
  • Has understanding of DRG and organizing approaches (MS DRG and AP DRG); in specific what identifies/ treatments effect DRG project.
  • Standard computer system abilities in data processing and spreadsheet usage.
  • Exceptional social abilities to establish relationships essential to help with and inform.
  • Outstanding prioritization and organizational abilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25 pounds): approximately 25 pounds, 0-33% of the work day (periodically); 11-25 pounds, 34-66% of the workday (often); 01-10 pounds, 67-100% of the workday (continuously); Raising 25 pounds max; Bring of things as much as 25 pounds; Periodic to regular standing & walking, Periodic sitting, Close eye work (computer systems, typing, reading, composing), Physical needs might differ depending upon designated workspace and work jobs.
