Coding Teacher (CCS Needed)

Job Summary

Provides education to brand-new Coding workers through an orientation procedure onsite, remote or a mix of both, for all MedStar centers. Offers continuous education for all MedStar Coding personnel on a continuous basis. Minimum Qualifications

Education/Training

High School graduation or equivalent. Bachelors degree chosen. Present AHIMA – Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) accreditation.

Experience

5 years experience in coding to consist of Coding Management, Coding Auditing, inpatient and outpatient coding in an intense care setting; experience dealing with doctors and other clinica specialists; experience in documents evaluation; coding/DRG (Diagnosis Related Groups) analysis needed. Shows understanding of coding requirements, TJC (The Joint Commission) requirements, HIPAA( Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and regulative requirement.

License/Certification/Registration

CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) accreditation from AHIMA (American Health Information Management Association).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong understanding of MS DRG (Medicare Severity Diagnosis Related Groups), APR DRG (All Patient Refined Diagnosis Related Groups) and outpatient repayment approaches Strong inpatient and outpatient coding abilities.
