POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Facilitates proper billing for inpatient, outpatient, ER and other intricate specialized services by validating decision of services supplied, client medical diagnosis’s through workplace and personnel notes; goes into proper charges into billing system; finishes extra responsibilities as needed to make sure that billing and coding details is gotten in properly and precisely.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Verifies the cosmetic surgeon’s decision of services offered and patient medical diagnoses through workplace and personnel notes.
  • Enters surgical charges in the billing system.
  • Maintains total understanding and adhere to all pertinent insurance coverage, CPT coding and medical diagnosis standards, sharing information to personnel and companies as needed.
  • Reviews quarterly supplier audits, looking into correct coding when required and dealing with coding and compliance as required.
  • Creates relationships with external companies (i.e. St. Joe’s and HVR) that permit improving and fast resolution of billing matters for clients.
  • Documents discussions with insurer and clients.
  • Audits health center reports for surgeries with workplace billing to make sure precision of billing to insurer.
  • Audits FIN sheets to confirm right insurance coverage and market details. Interacts with health center when suitable.
  • Attends frequently arranged conferences.
  • Coordinates and follows through with unique jobs as appointed.
  • Performs other tasks as appointed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: One of the following accreditations: AAPC (CPC), PMIC (CMC), AHIMA (CCS-P).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years’ surgical billing experience or other associated background.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ABILITIES & SKILLS):

  • Familiarity with billing and handled care department standard services and hours of operation to react to consumer demands properly.
  • Knowledge of medical, consisting of surgical, terms and treatments at the level required to carry out task duties, consisting of understanding of CPT and ICD-9/ ICD-10 coding.
  • Proficient/knowledgeable in the guidelines and policies relating to insurance coverage claim submission.
  • Proficient in running a basic desktop and Windows-based computer system, consisting of however not restricted to, electronic medical records, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, intranet and computer system navigation.
