Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Follows up on sent claims, keeps an eye on overdue claims and resubmits claims with suitable corrections and documents
  • Works decreases and procedures appeals
  • Responds to client and 3rd party queries; investigates and fixes easy to reasonably intricate problems; remedies mistakes and refers complicated concerns to manager
  • Reviews correspondence and rejection information from insurance coverage providers; posts rejections and carries out reconciliations
  • May transfer secondary balances to proper monetary class and offers documents for processing the claims
  • Reviews Credit Letter Sent (CLS) and transfers balance to suitable monetary class and dunning level
  • Reviews, works and clears electronic and declares edits daily; sums up and forwards non-workable edits to manager for resolution
  • May procedure refunds for supervisory approval
  • Prepares and sends referring doctor updates and other significant dictionary demands to manager for approval
  • Maintains strictest privacy; abides by all HIPAA and Federal Payor guidelines/regulations
  • Performs other associated tasks

Requirements:

  • Education: Associates Degree or HS Diploma/GED plus 2 years of associated experience
  • Experience: 2 years health care billing experience needed. Familiarity with CPT and ICD( coding and CCI edits
  • Electronic claims processing chosen
