The Arizona Republican Politician Celebration on Saturday authorized resolutions to censure Cindy McCain, widow of the late Senator John McCain, and former Senator Jeff Flake for endorsing President Joe Biden, and Guv Doug Ducey for enforcing the state’s coronavirus constraints.
McCain and Flake were censured for their criticisms of former President Donald Trump and assistance of his Democratic opponent Joe Biden in the 2020 election cycle, while Ducey was censured for utilizing emergency situation orders to restrict business activity amidst the pandemic. Both McCain and Flake backed Biden ahead of the November election.

In a recent look on ABC‘s The View, which is co-hosted by her daughter Meghan McCain, she lashed out at the state party chair, Kelli Ward, for championing the censures. “Perhaps she should be advised that my husband never ever lost an Arizona election given that his first win in 1982,” McCain stated, in referral to Biden becoming the first Democrat to win the state in more than 20 years in November.
McCain later on expressed pride in being censured by the Arizona GOP. “It is a high honor to be included in a group of Arizonans who have served our state and our country so well,” she tweeted Saturday night, “and who, like my late other half John, have actually been censured by the AZGOP. I’ll use this as a badge of honor.”
Flake, who endorsed Biden last August, was unfazed by the celebration’s choice to censure. “If condoning the president’s habits is required to remain in the party’s great enhances, I’m simply great being on the outs,” he tweeted.
