While Times Square was almost empty aside from performers singing to a digital audience and social networks flooded with photos of individuals spending their countdown from their couches, there were some who bucked the rules.
A handful of New Year’s Eve parties around the globe were busted by authorities and, in some locations, there are some large fines connected with hosting big events. From India to New York City, some very unhappy rule-breakers are looking at the effects of possibly furthering the Coronavirus spread.
Three New york city celebrations were ended by authorities on Thursday night. Among them, Maspeth Bar Lounge was captured for hosting around 300 maskless karaoke performers who prepared to sound in the New Yea, overlooking the Centers for Illness Control and Avoidance (CDC) guidelines.
Stars Hall in Brooklyn, New York, likewise saw a party of 80 busted, and Manhattan had its own loft party with 145 unmasked individuals, none of whom seemed social distancing.
