Certifications/Licenses

Needed Understanding, Skills, and Abilities

  • Doctor and NPP Coding accreditations (CPC and/or CCS-P)
  • In depth knowledge of 3rd party payer repayment, coding and documentation requirements
  • Understanding of State and Federal payers such as Medicare and Medicaid regulations
  • Experience in CPT-4, CDT and ICD-10 coding
  • Understanding of doctor billing
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Gain access to) software application package is required.
  • The capability to browse and research study on the Web
  • Ability to develop and preserve complicated work plans with strong attention to detail
  • Keeps privacy of delicate details consisting of, but not limited to, secured health information (PHI)
  • Need to be able to take a trip to numerous campuses
  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for organization needs; a valid driver’s license would be needed for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Dental Accreditation, Licensed Dental Coder (CDC)
  • Capability to use coding software
  • Need to be able to carry out each necessary duty satisfactorily
  • The requirements noted need to be representative of the understanding, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or capability
  • Experience in Examination and Management coding
  • Experience working in a teaching/academic or medical environment
