    • Job Purpose

    Responsible for all aspects of CPT and ICD-10 coding and documentation.

    Obligations and Duties

    • Comply with all Medicare requirements relating to coding treatments and practices
    • Conduct audits and coding reviews to make sure all documentation is precise and exact
    • Designate and series all CPT and ICD-10 codes for services rendered
    • Team up with billing department to guarantee all expenses are pleased in a prompt way
    • Communicate with supplier offices about coding errors and disputes
    • Contact doctors and other health care professionals with concerns about treatments or diagnostic tests offered to clients with regard to coding procedures
    • Examine medical records for consistency and accuracy. Guarantee that the last diagnosis properly shows treatment rendered
    • Detail-Oriented – must pay attention to details when recording and coding patient info
    • Functions with billing personnel and system WQ to make sure appropriate payment of claims

    Certifications and Skills

    • CPC certification AAPC
    • High School graduate or equivalent
    • Minimum two years of coding experience
    • Surgical coding experience a plus
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
    • Billing understanding and experience chosen
    • Need to be able to utilize job-related software
