This position is for PB Medicaid MCO’s. M-F 8 – 4: 30 with overtime as needed.
The Medical Billing Expert maintains understanding of billing area appointed. This position works under restricted guidance and may look to the Team Lead or Supervisor for assistance in responding to concerns and enhancing education around task conclusion. The Medical Billing Expert utilizes discretion/ profundity in dealing with confidential patient protected details. Works in a fast-paced, workplace environment with high efficiency and accuracy requirements that requires focus and concentration on laborious details and research study.
The job tasks for the Medical Billing Expert includes, however is not limited to, the following:
- Procedures and screens claims in work lines to the point of resolution and identifies appropriate action and follow-up.
- Conducts analysis of issues holding up accounts and follows standards established by Earnings Cycle Billing Manager to accomplish effective adjudication from the third party payor appointed.
- Preserves a working knowledge of assigned payorâ $ s particular running policies and guidelines.
- Recognizes the varying timeframe requirements as appointed by payor and is the primary line of defense in solving timely filing and other simple denial issues.
- Finishes prompt handling of mail and phone messages.
- Examines the SSI (electronic claim production) download in order to perform fundamental claim edits and document all work effort within the proper system.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School graduate required (or comparable); some college education chosen.
Experience: 2 years of applicable experience desired.
Other Minimum Credentials: Effective communication, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities required. Excellent social abilities required. Needs exceptional hearing, clear/concise speech, outstanding finger mastery to run computer system terminal/keyboarding as well as usage of a calculator. Need to be proficient with word processing, computer/PC skills. Excellent paperwork and follow-up skills required.
