Requirements:
Licensed Coding Professional (CCS) accreditation needed. (CCS with CPC chosen) through AHIMA
Partner or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Details Management chosen (or comparable in experience)
RHIT or RHIA accreditation highly chosen
2-5 years of severe care inpatient coding experience
Substantial understanding of ICD-10- CM and ICD-10- PCS coding conventions
Strong understanding of CPT and HCPCS coding chosen
Previous experience with 3M encoder chosen
Understanding of medical terms, anatomy and physiology, federal guidelines and policies referring to documents and billing
