In this course, the trainee will assess the advancement of HCPCS codes in the field of medical coding; show the capability to designate codes to medical diagnoses and treatments utilizing the CPT handbook properly; determine the structure CPT/ HCPCS and use basic standards in coding systems; and explain requirements, treatments, legal and ethical elements, types, and documents needed by Medicare and Medicaid for HCPCS codes.
