Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY: The Certified Medical Assistant – II is accountable for straight supporting the Medical Staff. The main job is to get in information and notes into Electronic Health Record system. An effective Medical Assistant will be well versed in psychiatry, efficient in comprehending psychological status, and using psychotropic medications. Medical Assistants (MA) should know the behavioral health care field, medical terms, usage of an electronic health records system and capability to keep reliable and arranged systems to guarantee prompt client circulation. Administrative Duties:

  • Entering/maintaining electronic health records
  • Answering telephones and welcoming clients with exceptional client service
  • Updating and submitting patient medical records
  • Coding and completing insurance coverage kinds
  • Scheduling consultations
  • Arranging for health center admissions and lab services
  • Handling correspondence, billing, and accounting

Clinical Duties:

  • Taking case histories, discussing treatment procedures to clients, preparing clients for assessment
  • Assisting the doctor throughout examinations
  • Collecting and preparing lab specimens, drawing blood, carrying out fundamental lab tests
  • Instructing clients about medication and unique diet plans
  • Preparing and administering medications as directed by a doctor, licensing prescription refills as directed
  • Taking electrocardiograms, eliminating stitches and altering dressings

Patient Liaison:

  • Medical assistants contribute in assisting clients feel at ease in the doctor’s workplace and typically describe the doctor’s directions

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
  • High school diploma or GED needed
  • Medical Assistant Certification in the state of Florida needed
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of One (1) year experience in a behavioral health environment needed
  • Minimum of One (1) year experience as a medical assistant needed

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT: Completes all requirements according to Individual Training Plan within the very first 6 months of hire and each year. Other training and/or expert advancement might be appointed due to development of programs.
