Overview/ Job Responsibilities:
At the ATLA Representative Office, situated in the Crystal City, VA the United States, is the federal government intermediary workplace of Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Agency (ATLA) HQ, Japanese Ministry of Defense. The Office functions as the point of coordination in between the HQ and U.S. Government firms covering the program of defense market and innovation, defense ability program management and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) procurement administration. As a Government workplace, the Office’s objective is to serve the country of Japanese people in accordance with the recognized ATLA policies, and with the complete gratitude of the worths of defense spending plan offered by the taxpayers of Japan.
In this function, a normal day will consist of:
- Providing assistance for fixing up FMS billing declarations with shipping files such as Format DD1149 provided by the U.S. Government firms throughout Japan’s FMS procurement deals. Most of such reconciliation work occurs in Navy FMS cases. The prospect will have managed direct exposure to those files while on responsibility.
- Presenting reliable user interface with U.S. Government firms, ATLA Representative Office team member, Embassy of Japan in the U.S., ATLA HQ and other appropriate Japan in-country equivalents.
- Assisting with coordination and interaction in between Japanese and U.S. equivalents, working to resolve ATLA’s queries,
investigating appropriate U.S. guidelines, offering translation assistance, producing slides and other product, and reporting to ATLA Representative Office for work status on a regular monthly basis.
- Adhering to ATLA’s details security policies will be needed.
- Experience with computer system applications is needed (e.g., e-mail, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides, data processing, and Microsoft Office).
- The capability to be precise in comprehending FMS transactional files, such as Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA), shipping file and FMS billing declarations, and to utilize the Japanese and English languages at the native-level efficiency will be needed.
- Complying with ATLA policies, treatments, and requirements of principles and stability. Carries out extra responsibilities as designated by ATLA.
Minimum Qualifications:
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 8 years or more work experience in the United States Forces in Japan, with considerable work experiences in Navy, carrying out procurement and logistics administration tasks in the fields of shipment and shipping administration (e.g., handling Format DD1149), in a Japan-U.S. bilateral environment
- 1 year or more work experience in a Japanese Government firm workplace, carrying out standard clerical associated duties (e.g., filing, information entry) utilizing computer system applications (e.g., e-mail, spreadsheet, data processing) in addition to coordination with Government authorities in a Japanese-speaking environment
- Experience with a business that has a record of supplying FMS billing-shipping file reconciliation assistance to Japan, AND
- Native-level efficiency in utilizing both of the Japanese and English languages (speaking and writing) at work while handling FMS subjects consisting of file reconciliation, AND
- Abundant cultural awareness and understanding on the work principles of the Japanese society, with experiences in operating in Japanese business.
