The Coding Teacher, RASQ Method will be on the Danger, Modification, STARS, Quality (RASQ) group. You’ll be working with our internal RASQ and market groups, clients and service providers to supervise the success of risk change efforts for a large Medicaid health plan.

Place: Chicago, IL. Candidate must be in Chicago, or the surrounding area, and be willing to visit company practices. Evolent is presently working from another location during COVID, however prepare for being back in offices, and visiting supplier workplaces, as security authorizations.

What you’ll be doing:

As a key member of our market Risk Change team, you will contribute to the overall success of risk modification activities and lead service provider education efforts. You will carry out provider & office staff training associated to the ICD-10- CM code set, threat change, scientific paperwork, and billing functions. You’ll use a combination of data and chart evaluations identify patterns in supplier coding, then produce and provide targeted education to improve individual coding behaviors.

Responsibilities:

– Develop relationships with companies and interact coding and documents standards to ensure right coding, billing and documentation

– Conduct chart evaluates for suppliers and review company performance

– Examine coding and billing data to determine provider education requirements

– Provide official training to providers and staff concerning coding, billing and documents requirements

– Assist with research, analysis and reaction to inquiries regarding compliance, coding, and improper coding

– Carry out the minimum variety of coding quality reviews consistent with recognized department goals

– Ensure knowledge of current coding guidelines and relevant federal policies

Qualifications:

Needed

– Associate’s Degree in Health Info, Health Administration, or other pertinent health field

– Local Chicago area travel, up to 75% of the time.

– 3-5 years of appropriate coding experience

– A high-level of coding expertise in the following locations and/or disciplines: Risk Adjustment/HCC Coding, Auditing, Outpatient coding

– Full understanding of regulative requirements for ICD-10- CM Coding Guidelines, medical record paperwork, in addition to Medical Staff Rules and Regulations where applicable

– Understanding of medical terms, anatomy and physiology, and disease pathology

– Extraordinary social abilities and capability to establish effective relationships with both internal and external partners

– Strong discussion skills and capability to interact extremely technical information to non-technical audiences

– Microsoft Workplace abilities (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

– Strong listening abilities, vital thinking, and ability to make companies’ trust

– Ability to work in an extremely matrixed environment

– Abilities to multitask, prioritize, adjust to change and work well under pressure

Preferred

– Bachelor’s Degree

– Licensed Danger Change Coder (CRC) credential or similar specialty credential

– Previous training/teaching experience and client service education experience preferred

– Imagination and knowledge of adult finding out principals chosen

Technical requirements:

Throughout the present pandemic Evolent employees are working remotely from home. As such we require that all workers have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 MBPS and, specifically for all call center workers, the ability to plug in directly to the house internet router. These at-home technical requirements go through change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.
