The Coding Professional Senior Citizen – Doctor Billing Workplace is accountable for accurate coding of intricate surgical, procedural, diagnostic and determining appropriate levels of evaluation/management services for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency medication charges while adhering to all coding and governmental/carrier standards. View ADA Requirements 1) Mastered proficiency in all essential functions of the Coding Specialist position. 2) Knowledge in coding the most intricate scientific areas consisting of but not restricted to Neurosurgery, Injury Surgery, Cardiovascular Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology and determine levels of assessment and management services though thorough chart review of medical paperwork and active engagement with service providers to clarify procedures and paperwork to guarantee certified maximization of earnings. 3) Efficiency in coding complex office, outpatient and inpatient charges including but not limited to Surgical ICU and Vascular Surgery; requires chart review and active engagement with companies to figure out procedures performed and diagnoses; cross-trained in all medical locations. 4) Recognition and documents of missing out on provider charges and billing problems accurately and timely preserved on logs escalated to executive management. 5) Reviews everyday and weekly reports, clears edits and identifies prospective issues; works collaboratively with Compliance and management to resolve. 6) Active involvement in supplier in person training and issue resolution meetings to supply insight into problems, make tips for enhancements and establish close working relationships with the suppliers; assist in the education of suppliers. 7) Mentorship of all new and existing Coding Specialists and Coding Associates. 8) Maintains the highest levels of privacy at all times. 9) Produce and preserve documents for coding procedures throughout the department to ensure consistency of all work performed as needed. 10) Meets, surpasses and sustains a 95% precision rate for quality and efficiency as identified by department policy. 11) Assists with unique jobs and jobs as assigned by Coding Lead, Supervisor, Educator, Manager and/or Director. 12) Active involvement in group activities; actively engaged and guides others through favorable interactions; leads by example. Qualifications Unless otherwise required by accreditation, licensure, or registration, a comparable combination of education and experience which supplies efficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be alternatived to the minimally required education and/or experience listed in the Credentials section below. Minimally Required Education: If none needed select ‘none required’. High School/ GED Preferred Education: Graduate of a qualified Coding Program Minimally Needed Experience: If none required choose ‘none needed’. Four or more years experience as a coder in a provider-based setting with two or more years experience in coding intricate surgical services with in-depth evaluation and projection from treatment and personnel notes. A pre-employment Evaluation for brand-new hires should be finished with demonstrated understanding and experience in the inpatient/outpatient coding. Preferred Experience: Four or more years experience in coding provider-based surgical services in a multi-specialty surgical practice with extensive review and extrapolation from treatment and personnel notes. Capability to review and precisely level assessment and management services. Skills and Proficiencies: This position is for those with robust experience in coding complicated surgical, procedural, diagnostic and determining suitable levels of evaluation/management services for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency medicine charges while sticking to all coding and governmental/carrier standards. Requires finishing from a certified coding program and certification with either a CPC or CCA certification.
