Summary of Responsibilities and Responsibilities

  • Quarterly audits of insurance charges
  • Examine service provider documents to assure the proper Examination & Management levels are appointed using the correct CPT code
  • Evaluate medical records for documents consistency and adequacy
  • Interact with suppliers relating to differences in level and work with them to upgrade documents or have them concur to changing level.
  • Assist billing group to establish the medical requirement of charges
  • Offers feedback to the service providers and medical staff on coding issues and denials
  • Identify billing mistake trends and interact with service providers as determined
  • Provide training to each service provider concerning mistakes determined
  • Screen and audit proper medical diagnosis codes with proper CPT codes for billing purposes
  • Review proper medical codes to all diagnoses or services
  • Participate with other staff to follow up on accounts up until account balance is absolutely no
  • Complete coding tasks as needed
  • Assist with charge entry in all locations as required
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Education, Previous Work Experience, Unique Skill and Knowledge Requirements

  • Certified Professional Coding (CPC) certification needed
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Fundamental Computer system Skills-must understand Excel
  • 2 years of experience in ASC coding and insurance coverage billing needed
  • Knowledge of the ICD-10, ICD-9, and CPT-/ HCPCS universal coding systems.
  • Well arranged with a capability to meet due dates

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
