Countless mink chosen over COVID fears rise from a mass grave in Denmark
Copenhagen — A rushed cull of Denmark’s mink over issues about a coronavirus mutation has left the country dealing with a brand-new scary, as cadavers of the animals reappear from the earth. The macabre phenomenon was observed in a military training field outside the western town of Holstebro, where thousands of mink had been put into an improvised mass tomb.
The carcasses increased to the surface, lifted by pressure from gases launched by the decomposition, according to local police.
The environment ministry stated mink needs to be covered by at least five feet of soil, however according to public broadcaster DR they were only buried about 3 feet deep in the field outside Holstebro.
