Roles & Responsibilities:
- Follows up on sent claims, keeps track of overdue claims and resubmits claims with suitable corrections and documents.
- Works decreases and procedures appeals.
- Responds to client and 3rd party questions; investigates and fixes basic to reasonably intricate concerns; remedies mistakes and refers complicated problems to manager.
- Reviews correspondence and rejection information from insurance coverage providers; posts rejections and carries out reconciliations.
- May transfer secondary balances to suitable monetary class and supplies paperwork for processing the claims.
- Reviews Credit Letter Sent (CLS) and transfers balance to proper monetary class and dunning level.
- Reviews, works and clears electronic and declares edits daily; sums up and forwards non-workable edits to manager for resolution.
- May procedure refunds for supervisory approval.
- Prepares and sends referring doctor updates and other significant dictionary demands to manager for approval.
- Maintains strictest privacy; abides by all HIPAA and Federal Payor guidelines/regulations.
- Performs other associated tasks
Requirements:
- Associates Degree or HS Diploma/GED plus 2 years of associated experience.
- 2 years health care billing experience needed. Familiarity with CPT and ICD coding and CCI edits.
