Position Information:

The Coder, Outpatient carries out the functions of coding of ED and outpatient surgical treatment, and observation records, collection of predefined signs and abstracting medical records. Supplies prompt and precise ICD-10- CM and CPT codes for repayment and particular details for analytical functions. Remains existing with acknowledged resources – AHA Coding Clinics and CPT Assistant. Codes discharges using the 3M encoder choosing the proper APC if suitable for compensation. Confirms LCDs for medical requirement. Interacts with doctors and medical personnel concerning coding and documents problems.

Experience Requirements:

1 Year Coding – Outpatient Required – Or Equivalent Education Requirement

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree Health Information Management Required – Or Associate’s Degree Health Information Management Required – With Equivalent Experience

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Registered Health Information Administrator Or Registered Health Information Technician Or Certified Coding Specialist Or Certified Professional Coder Preferred

Hours of Work:

5 days; 8 hours daily
