Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • High school diploma with needed accreditations and/or Associate’s degree.
  • A minimum of 2 or more years of appropriate coding experience, with a top-level of coding competence in the following locations and/or disciplines is needed in the locations of:
  • Risk Adjustment/HCC Coding
  • Physician Coding
  • Coding and/or chart review/auditing experience is needed.
  • Knowledge of Coding software application and Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Advanced understanding of ICD-10 main coding standards, consisting of making use of AHA Coding Clinic or comparable reliable resources.
  • Excellent oral and written interaction abilities.
