As a Coding Integrity Specialist III WORK FROM HOME, you will evaluate and assess medical facility inpatient medical record paperwork to designate, series, modify and/or verify the proper ICD-10- CM and ICD-10- PCS codes. A CIS III carries out coding and/or code/DRG recognition throughout several entities by using all proper coding standards and requirements for code choices.

In this function you will:

  • Assign, series, verify, and/or modify codes/DRGs and abstracted information (e.g., doctor, discharge personality, question tracking) for inpatient records for numerous centers utilizing ICD-10- CM and ICD-10- PCS
  • Maintain or go beyond recognized precision requirements
  • Maintain or go beyond recognized efficiency requirements
  • Utilize the total client medical record documents in code/DRG project, recognition, and/or modifying of codes/DRGs

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED needed.
  • Undergraduate (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) degree in HIM/HIT chosen
  • Minimum 1 year of intense care healthcare facility inpatient coding needed with 3 years chosen.
  • Coding Technical Skills – ICD-10- CM, ICD-10- PCS, MS-DRGs, APR DRGs, and POA Assignment.
  • RHIT, RHIA or CCS chosen
