The Regional Director of Coding is accountable leading Income Cycle Coding, Audit and an Account Resolution Departments. Practical assignments include management of center and professional coding services, managing internal and external auditing, customer support, and coding info system analysis and management. Develops and implements strategies to make sure the accomplishment of established goals. Represents Coding, Auditing, Accounts Resolution and Earnings Cycle in meeting strategic goals throughout the McLaren System. The Regional Director is expected to be a contributing member of the Profits Cycle management group. Demonstrates the approach and core values of McLaren Health Care in the efficiency of responsibilities.
VITAL FUNCTIONS & OBLIGATIONS
1. Manages Discharge Not Final Billed (DNFB) and Discharge Not Final Coded (DFNC) for the McLaren system.
2. Offers leadership throughout the system in regard to center and expert Coding, managing internal and external auditing and account resolution questions.
3. Works carefully with the central business office to improve procedures impacting the Discharge Tentative Coded (DFNC) and Discharge Not Final Billed (DNFB).
4. Strong understanding of healthcare facility and expert claims processing including ICD-10, CPT, HCPC, PCS, NDC codes and modifiers as well as thorough understanding of UB and 1500 claim modifies.
5. Working understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and Third Party repayment methodologies.
6. Read and interpret company contracts to identify billing disparities.
7. Handles suppliers coding and auditing agreements.
Credentials
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree needed in Accounting, Service Management or carefully associated field in order to comprehend the effect of the earnings cycle on the efficiency of the health system.
- Fifteen (15) years’ experience in a gradually more responsible management function in Health Details Management/Coding and/or Profits Cycle with demonstrated supervisory duty in health care.
- RHIT or RHIA
