The Medical Assistant (MA) helps specialists with administrative tasks in designated department within the medical facility or center by getting client records and test outcomes, collaborating day-to-day administrative jobs, preparing treatment spaces for evaluations, and helping professionals throughout medical treatments.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Obtain and record client case histories, vitals, test outcomes and other info for medical records
  • Coordinate the day-to-day administrative activities, consisting of scheduling, client check-in and check-out, and client medical record upkeep.
  • Prepare treatment spaces, making sure tidiness, for scientific examinations and help professionals with treatments and other client care
  • Deliver caring assistance, attention and support to clients and households
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare guidelines, consisting of HIPAA and OSHA
  • Prepare and administer medications for clients as directed by doctors.

  • Instruct clients on treatment preparation and aftercare
  • Obtain specimens, carry out laboratory responsibilities, draw blood and chart outcomes, as required
  • Perform needed screening and treatment such as EKG’s, PFT, and so on
  • Communicates with drug stores, nursing houses, other doctors or other entities needed offering specialists orders, verbatim
  • Report laboratory, X-Ray, imaging and other diagnostics in addition to strategy of care to clients as directed by specialist
  • Maintain privacy of all details according to HIPAA and business policy

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Analytical capability to use requirements and examine details to make choices
  • Strong spoken and written interaction abilities; and outstanding social abilities in teaming with clients, medical personnel and the general public
  • Detail oriented with shown capability to multitask
  • Professional look and ease in establishing connection with others
  • Basic understanding of client care, medical terms, coding treatments, recommendation tools, and proper medical pharmacology for medical assistant scope
  • Knowledgeable in policies, policies and treatments to administer client care
  • Knowledgeable of medical devices and instruments to administer client care.
  • Knowledge of typical security risks and preventative measures to develop a safe workplace
  • Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office programs consisting of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; knowledgeable about electronic medical healthcare record systems
  • Ability to keep quality assurance requirements
  • Ability to respond calmly and successfully in emergency situation circumstances

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant program, needed
  • Current Medical Assistant licensure with the State of Kansas, needed
  • BLS, needed
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a health care setting, chosen
