Today’s #FraudFactFriday addresses medical billing scams– in my opinion a kind of scams that is the personification of the phrase “adding fuel to the fire”. It is approximated that up to 15% of medical expenses submitted in the U.S. have some type of fraud related to them. The last thing we require after a difficult medical treatment is a deceitful bill.
I was lucky sufficient to have the opportunity to discuss this topic with 2 highly knowledgeable medical billing fraud fighters, Tami Rockholt and Mike Fossey. All of us get medical costs, however we don’t really know what might be deceitful and what may not be. As gone over in the video, something specific to keep an eye out for on your medical expenses is unbundling.
It was an enjoyment to have both Tami and Mike in the “fraud circles of trust” to discuss this subject! I will definitely be resolving more medical billing scams plans and avoidance techniques with them in future posts.
Let me understand if there is a #fraud fighting topic you would like to deal with, or tag someone in the remarks you believe belongs in the #FraudCirclesOfTrust.
