Job Summary

The MBS ensures that all patient details, charges, billings and follow-ups are accurate, total and timely. The medical billing professional will be responsible for Preparing and sending claims to various insurance companies through proper channels. As a MBS you are accountable to obtain status details from payer sites, make minor corrections to patient account details as required to make sure timely payments as well as follow each account through resulting in total account resolution. Great organizational, time management and multitasking abilities. Exceptional verbal and written interaction as well as the capability to fulfill strict deadlines. Preserving strict confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and guidelines is mandatory for this position.

• Developing and navigating Meditech account work lists

• Fixing billing edits such as Insufficient, Rejection, Medical Evaluation and Hold categories in Emdeon System

• Performing consistent internal follow-up regarding bill holds for prompt submission of claims

• Performing Customer Service associated actions

• Following efficiency requirements set by business office leadership

• Reading and understanding patient medical records and ensuring HIPAA privacy

Experience: Minimum of one year billing experience in a health care company.

Preferred: 3 years billing experience in a healthcare company.
