Summary

We are looking for a devoted Medical Billing & Collections Group Leader for our Billing Center. In this function you will support a group of billing center staff members in reaching their objectives.

Necessary Duties and Duties

  • Collections and Reconciliation of overdue AR
  • Distributing A/R aging assignments and follow-up
  • Ensuring communication with payer
  • Fixing up batches
  • Reviewing and approving change demands
  • Evaluating keying audits, day-to-day collections activity sheets, and making sure all changes are authorized
  • Examining monthly collection activity and performance; setting goals
  • Running reports
  • Training staff on proper claim submission, collection, appeal, and reconciliation processes
  • Carries out other tasks as appointed

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Job Requirements:

Work is contingent on

  • Background examination (company-wide)
  • Drug screen (when suitable for the position)
  • Legitimate driver’s license in state of home with a clean driving record (when suitable for the position)

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience in medical field and administrative record management
  • Experience working in healthcare, house health, or medical field
  • Minimum of one year experience in medical permissions preferred
  • One to three years of associated previous work experience in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong customer care background
  • Supervisory experience

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Successfully interact in English; both oral and composed, with doctors, area workers and patients to make sure concerns and concerns are processed in a timely manner
  • Handy, educated and respectful while keeping a favorable attitude
  • Interpret a range of instructions in a variety of communication mediums
  • Knowledge of Resilient Medical Devices (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME)
  • Knowledge of federal payer program regulations and guidelines
  • Understanding of insurance policies and requirements
  • Understanding of medical billing practices and of billing repayment
  • Maintain privacy and practice discretion and care when handling sensitive details
  • Multi-task in addition to attention to detail
  • Need to have the ability to precisely perform simple mathematical calculations utilizing addition, subtraction, reproduction and department
  • Self-motivation, arranged, time-management and deductive problem fixing skills
  • Work separately and as part of a team

  • Needs close vision to fine print on computer and or paperwork
