Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quarterly audits of insurance charges
  • Examine supplier paperwork to guarantee the proper Assessment & Management levels are designated using the correct CPT code
  • Evaluate medical records for paperwork consistency and adequacy
  • Interact with service providers concerning differences in level and work with them to upgrade paperwork or have them concur to altering level.
  • Help billing group to develop the medical requirement of charges
  • Provides feedback to the suppliers and clinical personnel on coding issues and rejections
  • Identify billing mistake patterns and communicate with providers as identified
  • Provide training to each company concerning errors identified
  • Display and audit appropriate medical diagnosis codes with proper CPT codes for billing purposes
  • Review proper medical codes to all diagnoses or services
  • Take part with other staff to follow up on accounts up until account balance is absolutely no
  • Complete coding projects as needed
  • Assist with charge entry in all areas as needed
  • Other responsibilities as designated

Education, Prior Work Experience, Special Ability and Knowledge Requirements

  • Licensed Expert Coding (CPC) accreditation required
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Basic Computer system Skills-must understand Excel
  • 2 years of experience in ASC coding and insurance billing needed
  • Understanding of the ICD-10, ICD-9, and CPT-/ HCPCS universal coding systems.
  • Well arranged with an ability to satisfy due dates
  • Information oriented
  • Excellent Customer Service
  • Strong spoken and written interaction skills
